The
Rapala Deep Tail Dancer 11 (model TDD11) is a floating, deep-diving crankbait designed primarily for trolling to target trophy-sized predatory fish at significant depths. This lure is distinguished by its banana-shaped balsa wood body and an oversized diving lip.
Features and design
- Deep-diving lip: The enlarged lip allows the lure to plunge rapidly to its maximum depth of up to 9 meters (around 30 feet) without the need for added weight. This feature is particularly effective for reaching fish suspended in deep water.
- Balsa wood construction: The balsa wood body gives the Deep Tail Dancer a buoyant and responsive action, perfectly replicating the movement of a wounded minnow.
- Wide tail swimming action: The banana-shaped body creates a distinctive and wide "tail dancing" wobble. This action is effective at both slow and fast trolling speeds, making it versatile for different conditions.
- Internal rattle mechanism: Inside the body, a rattle system creates sound vibrations that attract fish from a distance, even in murky water or low-light conditions.
- VMC® black nickel treble hooks: The lure is equipped with sharp, durable VMC® treble hooks that provide reliable hook penetration and are strong enough to handle aggressive strikes.
- Hand-tuned and tank-tested: As with all Rapala lures, each Deep Tail Dancer 11 is hand-tuned and tank-tested to ensure it swims perfectly right out of the box.
